It if funny how the mind works. Even a mind as small and confused as mine, does the strangest things.
Today, I cheated on my diet--big time. But today is also the day I set a new goal for myself--to RUN (really jog, but as opposed to walk) in the Komen Louisville Race for the Cure on October 10, 2009.
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm interested male breast cancer issues and awareness. The Komen Foundation doesn't do much to promote its male breast cancer stuff, but it does some. And most experts say breast cancer(s) is the same male or female.
I'm not sure where or how this got in my head. Even fifteen (15) years ago, (Was it really that long?) when I was running almost everyday, I never ran in a race. Lots of runners in my group did, my apartment-mate and his girlfriend were avid racers. But not me. Why now?
I don't know. But I do know this, I am going to run in that race, and I'm going to have fun getting there.
If I'm going to participate in this race, I'm going to need sponsors, so count on me hitting you up for donations in the future.
Now, I've got to figure out how to train for this.
To turn a (rather appropriate) phrase: "The game is afoot."
